What is
VNG, VEMP & ECochG?
VNG (Videonystagmography) tracks eye movements using infrared cameras to evaluate how well the inner ear (vestibular system) and brain coordinate balance. It helps detect the exact side and cause of a balance disorder.
VEMP (Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potential) measures muscle responses to sound stimulation, assessing the function of the saccule, utricle, and the inferior vestibular nerve — parts of the inner ear not evaluated by standard hearing or balance tests.
ECochG (Electrocochleography) measures the electrical activity generated by the inner ear and auditory nerve in response to sound, commonly used to support the diagnosis of Meniere’s disease and other cochlear conditions.
